Skin and Brow Haus: Empowering Confidence through Beauty
BACKGROUND
Fara, founder of Skin and Brow Haus, has spent over 20 years in the beauty industry, starting with makeup and eventually transitioning into permanent makeup artistry. Her passion for making others feel and look great led her to start her own small business in San Clemente, California.
CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES
In mid-2021, Fara secured a physical location for her business, but found herself in need of assistance in moving forward and opening up her location strategically. She contacted the CSUF SBDC for help and was paired with consultant Kathleen Swift.
SBDC SUPPORT
Kathleen provided guidance and support in various aspects of Fara’s business, such as securing licenses and permits, creating financial projections, budgeting, and determining goals and timelines to officially open her business. Kathleen also suggested Fara to go through the Beauty Boss program, which helped her build out her business and learn more about the marketing aspects. Through the program, Fara was eligible to receive a $10,000 grant through the California Dream Fund.
RESULTS AND FUTURE PLANS
Fara officially opened the doors to the Skin and Brow Haus on Friday, May 6th. She continues to use the resources available to her and is eager to continue her relationship with the SBDC. The business offers holistic facials, brow treatments, waxing, and more in South Orange County. Visit their website to make an appointment or browse their products.
